Description
My offering to the 20th anniversary of Pokemon me with my very first Pokemon, Bulbasaur.
I think I was 11 years old when I first bought the blue version from my local Beatties (that was such an awesome shop. It doesn't exist anymore, though ). The cartridge had this weird purple blemish on it, but that didn't affect the game. I chose Bulbasaur as my starter Pokemon and I named him Killer (I was really bad with names as a kid, ok?!) and I always had him on my team
I was totally obsessed with Pokemon from then on: I bought the trading cards, figurines, plushies, Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 for the N64, Colosseum for the Gamecube, watched the television show religiously, I saw Mewtwo Strikes Back at the cinema and I had this really awesome Mewtwo t-shirt! I even attended live events to play against other people, and I was lucky that the first 3 people I fought against had a Charizard while I had a Jolteon (whom I appropriately named Jackal). I did lots of drawings of Pokemon too, but I was slated mercilessly for it at school. God forbid if you liked something different from them and expressed it, the other kids were on you like friggin' piranhas. I was shy and withdrawn as a kid, but nowadays I can just say 'Yeah, whatever, mate.'
I lost interest in the series after Ruby and Sapphire because I became bored with the same basic plot over and over and the new monsters just weren't doing it for me anymore, but that doesn't mean I don't like Pokemon anymore. I'll always love it and remember how much fun I had playing the games
Pen + Coloured pencil
Pokemon is (c) Nintendo, Gamefreak et al
If you want to give me critique on this, please feel free!
