"Het vrouwtje van Putten"- The lady of Putten.<br />
<br />
Putten is the name of my hometown and this is our warmonument. <br />
On 2 Oktober, 1944 the German soldier brought all the men older than 13 from my hometown to concentrationcamps. A few returned, but this statue is for the 600 who didn't. <br />
<br />
This represents the familie who's men, brothers, fathers, uncles, grandpa's didn't return. She's facing the church where they prayed before they left.<br />
Below the statue is says: "And God shall erase all tears from their eyes."<br />
<br />
It's the only statue in my hometown which doesn't have graffiti on it...It's important to me...

WhooGo_SanjiGod Bless you. I can see that all your heart went into this drawing, and I know why. My eyes...they water for your town's sake. I smile though, knowing you really care.

Child_of_the_feralThis picture truly is beautiful. I can understand why the statue doesn't have graffiti on it. The second world war and the events within it is a terrible memory that should never be forgotten.

wickedobsessedI see a lot of passion and emotion went into this drawing...It is a wonderful drawing. You are a good writer and author. I just finished the book NIGHT by Elie Wiesel so I was just crying about the Holocaust and I can truly feel your pain through the description, and even just the drawing. Thank you for drawing and posting this to remind us Americans how lucky and blessed we truly are.
