White Pearl, Black Ocean

A painting based on a song by Sonata Arctica. The song is the same as the title, "White Pearl, Black Oceans," with lyrics and music written by Tony Kakko. They are one of my favourite bands and are very melodic and harmonic. They are a Finish metal band, though they sing in flawless english.
This particular song tells a great story that I hoped to capture with this painting. It is acrylic, touched up with coloured pencil. I apologize for the line down the center, but I was forced to scan it in two parts.
