Avye - Keeper of the Gate

Okay, I've got a name, and some kind of back story. Avye is the only one of her kind. She is a keeper and protector of that small amulet around her neck. The amulet is a gateway to a black hole, and the worm hole that lies within that black hole's singularity. There are all kinds of these necklaces, but this one leads to the most sought after place in the universe: Earth, or what remains of it. Avye is constantly hounded and chased after by the many races of the universe, even humans. She's a human crossed with an alien race known as the Ikali, who raised her and charged her with the mission of protecting the gate. What's on Earth that makes it so desirable? Only the Ikali know, and they won't even tell Avye.
