Description
Fandom: Invasion America
Name: Amy Carter-Ooshala
Age: 15
DOB: November 19, 1983
Gender: F
Species: Human/Tyrusian hybrid
Family: Cale-Oosha (father), Rita Carter (mother), David Carter-Oosha (elder brother), Commander Rafe (mentor, teacher, the oblivious object of her affection)
Birthplace: Turquoise Mesa, The Navajo Reservation
Appearance: Standing at a couple inches over five-feet tall, she has her father and brother's coloration of ivory skin, black hair, and light blue-violet eyes. She tends to wear her hip-length hair generally loose or back in a braid when she's at school or work. Her preferred style of dress is considered 'preppy' and 'nerdy' though around the house she tends to wear whatever's most comfortable.
Personality: With her gifted intellect, she's skipped grades and has ended up in her elder brother David's classes. She's socially awkward at times, quiet and shy with no real friends, preferring to spend time with her books, her mother, or at the sheriff's office after school where she volunteers. She wants to be the first female deputy and later on Sheriff of Glenport and participates in dual-enrollment at Bay State College on the weekends. Unlike her brother, who rebels constantly against Rafe, she has always trailed after her father's friend, learning from him hand-to-hand combat and how to control her blossoming mental abilities as well as bits and pieces of her father's heritage and language. Later on in her early teens, she fell madly in love with the man, who remains quite oblivious to her obvious infatuation.
History: A week after Cale left to lead his Ooshati, Rita found she was pregnant once more; contact was lost with Cale, and they returned to the Mesa during the last Trimester of her pregnancy. There, Amy was born and named by Rafe, using an Erdlufi spelling variation of the name of a Goddess in the Tyrusian Pantheon known for being the Deity of Luck. It was not Rafe who woke the child, but her almost two-year-old brother who had escaped from Alana to find his mother and the baby.
After returning to Glenport, Rita raised her children, who were as close as twins. When Amy was six, she started having vivid nightmares, and a parent-teacher conference where Rita was shown a crudely-drawn Mangler alerted Rita to the fact her daughter's mental abilities seemed to be coming in earlier and more strongly then her elder brother as the girl was experiencing her mother's nightmares.
And thus Rafe stepped in, taking in his role as teacher and mentor; unlike with David, the girl seemed to thrive and demand training with the mysterious friend of her father, wanting to know about her father and his heritage. Rafe was forced to heavily edit out anything that would give away the other-worldly nature of Cale and himself but managed to teach her their language along with other Earth-based ones; as she grew older, he began to train her in hand-to-hand combat and strategy with the belief that while David would be Cale, she would become her brother's Dragit, and lead his army and military for him.
When Amy became a teenager and all the lovely hormones kicked in, she decided that the only man she wanted was Rafe after at the wedding of a local girl she caught the bouquet and he – due to having the sharpest reflexes – caught the garter. Neither know that shortly before her daughter's birth, Rita had a dream of her daughter as a grown woman and the stern Commander Rafe eventually marrying.
In an effort to gain Rafe's attention as a woman and not a child, at fifteen she began to volunteer at the Sheriff’s office and began dual enrollment at a nearby college in Boston. She also began to take on 'house-wife' duties in doing his laundry, cleaning his apartment – located over the garage of the Carter home – and bringing him breakfast and coffee in the mornings as well as bringing him coffee after arriving after-school at the Sheriff's office. Its an uphill battle; Rafe is perhaps one of the most eligible bachelors in the town of Glenport and is rather aggressively pursued and it seems he doesn't want to recognize that she's growing up and no long the gangly-limbed, pigtailed little girl she used to be...
