The Moskvitch 2140 was made by the manufacturer AZLK of Moscow and IZH of Izhevsk. The car was properly the facelifted version of Moskvitch 412. Only the front grilles were different between the cars of the two factories. Its production ended at the AZLK plant in 1986, but it countinued until the early 1990's at the IZH.
The car was not as popular as Ladas or Volgas, but it was widely used especially in the Western part of the former Soviet Union, and was also buyable in the other socialist countries in a limited quantity.

WH2007Yet another classic. When I was travelling through Bulgaria I've seen a lot of those. They had an interesting and clever engine design. The cylinders were removable so if one of them broke, there was no need to replace the whole engine.
