Lada Samara (2108)

Description

Lada Samara (or type 2108) was produced by the Russian/Soviet AvtoVAZ company between 1984 and 2004. Due to it's an economy car, it was widespread in the countries of the eastern bloc. However the earlier Samaras were notorious of their failures such as its weak and fragile swing axle and poor electrical system.

The 2109 was a facelifted 2108 in a proper sense, but the sedan and pick-up versions were developped from this model.
Also the Ukranian Zaz 1102 Tavria was inspired by Samara.

The car was very popular in my country too. Nice job on this one. I like the little details and the cool background.

BTW, I've heard that Porsche specialist helped russians to design this car, but I'm not sure if it's only an urban legend XD

Thanks! I didn't know that, but I would be amused if it was true. However I've heard that the developpement of a concept Lada roadster was helped by German technicians.
