Ikarus 260 was one of the buses of the Ikarus 200 series, which was made in the biggest amount between 1971 and 2002. It was especially produced for the BKV (Budapest Public Transport Company), but the bus was also available for other transport companies, and lot of them were exported to many countries, notably Poland, Venezuela, Kuwait and the states of the former Soviet Union. Its hinged version was numbered 280.
Today the factory already went into bankruptcy some years ago, but these buses are still rolling on the streets of Budapest, moreover, the 260 is the main type of BKV's vehicle stock.

Hope you like it ;)

alitta2Yes, I know about that :) My other Polsih friend, who lives in Bielsko-Biała told me that the mayor of the city ordered that the local transportation service had to use only Ikarus buses back in the 70's-80's.

alitta2Thanks! Do you mean Lamborghini?
Well, I haven't done till this time, because I've been focusing alot on Eastern cars and classic Fiats (they inspired me the most because these cars were common in my home country for many decades, but as the time passes, they've got to be really rares of course). However it might happen that I'll feature one in my comic-series that I introduced here yet in december :)

adsheppardThanks very much. I love that picture. The livery on the bus reminds me of the Public Transport Service Corporation here in Trinidad. Keep it up.

alitta2I'm glad you like it. I'm proud of this pic because this bus was made in Mátyásföld (a former town which is now a part of Budapest), where I live.

WH2007Another true classic! In Bielsko-Biala they are still the most popular city buses. There was even a city law that said that only Ikarus buses can be used in the public transport company. Great job on this one, I love the little details and the backround with typical hungarian houses.

alitta2Thanks! In the background, there's one of the bus stops of No. 92, which is close to the street where I live in.
