Description
Endre Ady (1877-1919) was a Hungarian poet. Between 1892-1896, he attended a Protestant school in Zilah (today Zalău, Romania). In the newspaper "Szilágy" from Zalău, Ady published his first poem on March 22, 1896. He published a new collection of poems in 1903, but remained relatively unknown. In August of that year, he met Adél Brüll during his holidays in Paris, who later became his Muse in his poems (there he called her "Léda"). In 1908 in the town of Nagyvárad he was one of the founders of a literary circle called A Holnap (The Tomorrow). The circle published an anthology of some poems of Ady and others. From 1912, he was one of the editors of the periodical Nyugat (The West) that often published his poems and essays.
Ady was undoubtedly influenced by the works of Baudelaire and Verlaine. He often uses symbolism, his recurring themes are God, Hungary, and fight for survival. Other themes are present only in certain periods of his life (money, God, life and death, Léda). However, he was criticized by many people because of eroticism and unpatriotic feelings in his poems, in which he emphasized the contrast between the rich cultural life he longs for and the realities of the cruel Hungarian peasant world.
I replaced Eddy with Ady on this pic. The idea came from the resemblance of their names (leastwise with English pronounciation).

Maybe they look at him in a weird way because they can hardly believe they have such an intellectual and gifted son! ;-)
