The RAF-2203 Latvija was a microbus made between 1976 and 1997 by the Rigas Autobusu Fabrika in Jelgava, the former USSR (officially in Latvia from 1992). The bus was so popular especially in the Western part of the Soviet Union, where they were used as medical-car or the so called marshrutkas (fixed-run taxis). Also they made a special edition for the 22th Olympic Games of Moscow 1980.
The bus could be also found in the other socialist countries as well, but only in a few numbers, and they were used by special services like military polices or fire brigades.

Hope you like it :D

SaltwaterCool design and colours.
Speaking of colours, they remind me of the former colours of the German Police cars.
That was before all the individuality, characteristics, and richness of the Nations Identity were all despised and dumped,
because of the forced standardization of the E.U.

WH2007Another great detailed drawing. I've seen this car only once, in Bulgaria :) There was one in Poland. It served as a moving advertisement and then was cut into pieces.

The marshrutkas are also very polular in Poland and are called "busy".

alitta2Thanks much ;) In Hungary, the MTV (Magyar Televízió=Hungarian Television) had used a few dozen of them along with Volga M24's estate, but after 1989, most of them disappeared, and only some vehicles could survive the last decades.
It's interesting that they're popular in Poland. I had thought they are common only in the former soviet states. Maybe it'll be popular in my homeland as well, as many jokes have created after the news that the BKV (Budapest Transport Company) is about to fall into bankruptcy XD
