page 74.
The weapon she prepares from garbage is actually based on a similar one, made by Major Iliff David Richardson (1918-2001), when he was fighting in company of Filippino guerillas against the Japanese Empire in WW2. He saw his comrades using simple shotgun-like weapons called Paliuntok and Paltik. Only one shell could be shot at one time from them, and because of its working method, they had no trigger. Practically these guns could be use only for eliminating the enemy and gather his firearm or katana for further use.
These guns inspired Richardson to create his own having the same application method.
After the end of war, he came up with the idea to produce his weapon for sale, marketing it as the cheapest firearm that a civilian can afford in the U.S. (it cost only 7$ back then).
However, it was a commercial failure, even though it had some upgrades during its production, like a handguard and a safety trigger that just looked like a regular trigger with guard.
The reason of it was because of its unorthodox using method and the fact that a normal shotgun was just a bit more expensive, but still affordable.
Here's the full story of him and the gun: http://firearmshistory.blogspot.hu/2013/06/the-richardson-r5-philippine-guerilla.html
Unlike Richardson's gun, Mary's one doesn't have a stock, but it's not needed at all.
-Mary Test from Johnny Test (created by Scott Fellows) belongs to Cookie Jar Entertainment
- Isabella from Phineas and Ferb (created by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh) belongs to Disney
-Maya from Maya and Miguel (created by Deborah Forte) belongs to PBS
