I'm ambivalent about the illustration marker outline; it makes the piece a bit bolder, but I think it might be losing some of the detail...

I think it looks fine.I think the inking frames him nicely. It brings out his loud personality, and creates a focal point for the picture, as well as draws the eye.
I think I prefer to see your pictures with a little color, though.
