Some tips: (Sorry if you've already know this. lol)
-Always keep the lineart, the coloring, and the shading on their own separate layers. (It makes it easier to go back and change things.)
-Use the magic wand tool or the lasso tool(Lasso tool is better, but it takes longer) to select the areas you want to shade. It makes adding shadows easier.
-A good and easy way to do highlights on the hair is to make a new layer, draw a white squiqqle across the hairline, and use the smudge tool to make it blend in.

What's cool about photoshop is that you can experiment with many different tools. There really isn't any right or wrong way to color. So you may find different techniques to your liking.
Anyway! Now that I have sufficiently bored everyone. LOL
Keep up the good work. It takes practice but I think you can be really good.
