I appreciate all your points of view. I know that I can't make the world agree with me on this senseitive issue but I feel that I had to get my point across.

Many animals used in the fur industry are caught in inhumane traps like those large sharped tooth bear traps. They are left in these traps often days at a time, left with little choice but to chew off their own limbs or starve to death. If they are found alive and primarily intact, then they are put in cruel cages that are far too small most of the time. They are neglected and left to live i squaller. Feces and urine often cover and encrust the tiney cages. When the time comes for skinning the animal, the animal is stunned with an electric gun to reduce damage to the fur. They are skinned, sometimes still alive, but barely.

Some fur camps, do however cpature and treat their animals humanely, but it is the above which sends me into a fit of anger.

If you want the look and functionality of a real fur coat, then please buy a faux fur coat. They are just like the real thing only better for our happy little animal friends.

Keep in mine...90% of the fur on the market is fur obtained through uncruel/unmalicious ways and is perfectly legal.

For every rabbit that is raised for food/pelts, 20 take its place.

It's illegal to sell products made of endangered animals anyway. It's not like people don't know that it's been a problem before. Just keep in mind...the reason there's articles out there against animal fur hunting...and making such a big deal out of it (ie: news) is because it doesn't happen often. It wouldn't be news if it was commonplace.
I dunno, maybe fur is a bad thing in Southern California or wherever when you're wearing some jacket that a bunch of endangered animals died to make, but trust me; When it's -63C with the windchill and you're walking four kilometers to your friend's house, it's nice to have a dead rabbit to wrap around your face.
Disagree if you will. I guess I was just raised with that "hunting and fishing=livelihood" mentality that you get from being raised in a fundimentally Metis community in Northern Manitoba.

Nice pic, BTW, she looks a little Disney-ish. Reminds me of Cruela Deville.
