I love the detailed light-colored on in the middle! You must have worked so hard on these. AMAZING WORK!

Thank you for that compliment. ^_______^
I used Corel Photopaint 9, but don't think the techniques I used were unique to it. Just a line-tool, floating objects aka layers, and a digital image resizing feature that uses inches. (Don't resize the width, just proportionately resize the whole image based on the length from tip to tip--------it is therefore important that the image be oriented at 90-degrees vertical before you resize it)
Good lengths for just about any of the keyblades are upwards of 36 inches. The Oblivion I made is 32 inches, and it's a bit small... I think the Ultima and Way to the Dawn I made are even upwards of 45''. I don't remember exactly.
But, Ultima was actually the only one I used the line-tool for, since it is composed of layers. For the others, I just printed out the giant picture as it was and built on that with paper-mache, adding the details by hand according to regular, small reference pictures.

I'm glad you asked. :)
The Making of Ultima Weapon I made this site a long time ago, when I first started making Ultima here. Yes, this keyblade here is the same one as in ALL of those photographs!
Have fun. ;-)
PS: This is my other site, in case there are other things anyone else would like to know how to make. NobodysBuddy

I wouldn't dare post them if I didn't. But, Oblivion thar is actually a re-post, because I made it 4 years ago and posted some pics way back that long ago. It's my #1-top submission so far, according to Fanart-Central's ranking system. Although, those pics were before it got a brand pank'n new paint job. :)

Well, the black one you like is made of paper-mache, but it's exactly the same weight as my bokken, which is solid wood...
And the gold one on the left is a mixture of paper-mache-like substances, but weighs about as much as a real shinken I once handled... ("shinken" is Japanese, literally meaning "real sword"!!)
And they're all strong enough to support themselves when you swing em real fast. (Though, probably wouldn't survive much of an impact.)
...Did I mention that they're almost waterproof? =D
