luckylace222How did you digitally alter watercolor to make it look like that?! It almost seems like a multicolored pen work with some thick marker!

chevronloweryIt was tough at first. I did lots of layers with random strokes and it really wasn't working. Then I had the brilliant idea that, "Hey dumb***, if you want it to look like fabric and wrinkled paper, how about looking at some fabric and wrinkled paper?" It was definitely a Homer Simpson slap myself in the forehead moment. After that, it started coming together.

chevronloweryThanks! I wrinkled up some paper, and got some old fabric and did some drawings of them on separate layers, then I set them to overlay. I still had to play with the brightness/contrast to get them to come out properly though.

that's really cool, I didn't know you could do that with watercolors

MagusFarlornWell-done, and thought provoking.  It looks like an old picture that has had a lot of color washed away, with just traces of the original colors left.  Did you do this on fabric?

chevronloweryThe original piece was done on textured watercolor canvas. I took some hi-res pics and with some multiplied layers in Corel Painter I was able to get some of the original texture to come through. Once I figured out how to make my own textures that worked with the piece it just sort of added up. And thanks!
