I LOVE Ewan McGregor! Love him love him love him. *glomps Ewan* First things first... you really shouldn't feel sad if one of your drawings doesn't turn out like you want it to. Just keep practicing and you will get there. Now that that is out of the way... I totally applaud you for trying realism. Realism is NOT easy. Trust me, I know. It is easy for those who have never tried it to look at something and say "Oh that looks terrible." But they don't understand how difficult it really is to get the eyes right or to get the shading right. >_< Now then... I mostly draw realism. I also like to do some anime, but my passion is realism done in graphite. The most realistic one I have done is my Orly picture. That was a pain. Anyway, I will offer some advice here. Not that you really need it because I think you have done rather well here. When you are shading something in, try to blend the pencil with tissue or a q-tip (q-tips work the best) or something called a smudge stick, but why waste your money when q-tips or TP work just as well? Anyway, the blending will make your shading more soft and more realistic looking. I absolutely LOVE how you drew the nose and the chin. Those look wonderful. All in all, just keep practicing if this is the kind of art you are really into. The more you do it, the better you will become because your hands become "trained" in a sense. Just make sure to slow yourself down as well. You'd be surprised at the quality when you take your time on it. My most recent submission (In the Meadow) I spent 4 days on. No kidding. And it paid off because now it is going to be made into notebooks and posters and stuff. Just keep going. You are doing so well already. ^_^ Whew! Think this was long enough? LOL
