many times my friends give me crap about loving a minor character so much, but one of the things i like about matt is the way that, although he makes a very short appearance in the series (too short! too short!), there are a lot of things that can be concluded from the information that is given about him. i like the way that his character forces the reader to read inbetween the lines. like TEK said, matt and mello grew up together at the wammy's house, and they obviously have a very close relationship.

one of the best ways to really get to know him as a character is probably through fanfiction. right now i'm reading a fanfic called Juxtaposed, and i highly reccomend it. ^_^

Well, I looked him up in Wikipedia and discovered a lot about him! xD I really want to get my hands on the How to Read volume 13. It says on Wiki that it'll be released in English in February! :D

i read a translation of matt's page from htr 13 a while ago. sorry i don't remember where i found it (darn, i should have saved it!), but i at least know it's out there on the internet somewhere...

in the how to read 13 volume released in japan, it says that matt hates going out and likes video games. and he met mello because he also grew up at the wammy's house, and he and mello were obviously very close. and you have to remember that he's incredibly intelligent, but not near as much as mello. and he has to be very bold or something, because he KNEW that getting involved with mello and this whole thing would be dangerous, and he did it anyways.

Yeah, I knew (from fanfiction x3) that he liked video games and went to Wammy's, but that's about it. And I kinda guessed he and Mello were close. So there's a 13th volume in Japan, huh..? Interesting. Guess I'll have to look it into it. xD
