ahlun data- some lovin'

Ahlun- demonvampire i made up using criteria from what i know about filipino vampires and other asian monsters.
coloring:
They're coloring varies but usually consists of a skin hue that deeply contrasts to the color of their hair(black and white, navy and platnum, etc) and their eyes are startling colors that are down right demonic. Gold and red are what Jazz has, and Mao(her mate) has the reversal.
Eyes consist of colors that also contrast, and either mellow or amplify. (green iris with black corneas=neon, blue irises with silver/milky corneas=neon, red iris with rose corneas=mellowed, etc)
body structure:
claws and fangs are a given. And unlike most 'vampires' ahluns have spikes, spurs, or horns along their bodies. Called thorns, they are found along the spine, and shoulder blades, and join at the tail. Antlers/horns are on the heads, multitudes of designs and lengths depend on region and climate.

Females have more thorns along their shoulders and hips, to prevent premature/unconsentual mating. When the female is in estrus, she usually challenges the male that she has already chose to be her mate. In rights of power, they fight, as bad a brawling wild dogs. The fight comes to a conclusion when either she says stop, grows disinterested, or the male breaks off one of her antlers.

In a matter of hours, or minutes, the rest of the thorns on her body simply fall off, and mating in consented to.

Most of the time, Ahluns are in human form. When turning into their secondary forms, they grow taller, toner, and more intuned to their environment.

Jazmyn and Harimao for example, have dark slick skin, silver thorns, and long talons and two extra sets of canines. Their feet are more animal shaped, heal raised, and walking on the balls and toes. Three toes and one raised toe like a velociraptor. Their bodies are perfect for climbing trees, and fighting other creatures such as the mananangal or tiktik(flying harpylike vampires) when they touch earth.

age/maturity:
puberty comes at the human rate, then a year or toe later, ahlun form slowly comes. Before then, the small things like senses of scent, hearing, and sensing nonhuman creatures are a given.

diet:
dispite the wording of 'vampire', they don't ingest human blood. Nope. That blood is bitter, and does little(if nothing) to help with wounds, hunger or immortallity. Instead, they eat the things that eat humans. But the way they look usually gets them mistaken for other demons, hunted down and slaughtered.

Aside from the eating of humaneaters, they eat normal foods, fruit, vegetables, fish, rice, bread, beef, etc. And hunting is done in moderation so not to alert covenants of their prey.

...i'd love to do a comic of them eating Edward and the Cullens... so badly....
