Another gift for Gene5i5 at DA, this pic was also inspired by a true event.
On the morning of July 29, 2009, my mother was biking when she saw a poor white baby kitten in the middle of the street. Although she very usually doesn't like having animals in her house, she brought it in and tried to give it some milk. The kitten refused, but my mother gave it a towel to blanket it. I eventually woke up and heard some short squeals. I at first didn't want to believe there was a cat, but then I walked out into the kitchen to see it huddling beneath the towel. After calling an animal shelter, she and I drove the cat (which was in a shoebox with holes cut out) to the shelter. Cats hate traveling, and this poor kitten was no exception. I held the cover as tightly as I could to keep the kitten from escaping. When we arrived, we gave it to a woman who identified it as a possible female. I was very happy the kitten now had shelter, and with its adorable look, I'm sure it's bound to be adopted with a couple weeks.
I was planning to draw Tanza as a sleeping little kitten before this fortunate incident, but it further enhanced my desire to draw this.
