In the canon storyline, Mitsurugi and Hwang aren't rivals. They probably haven't even met, despite the fight scene on the opening movie of Soul Blade.<br />

But I really wanted to see some kind of ongoing rivalry between the two. Seeing as how at the time Korea was stuck defending against Japan's forces. Even today, Korea holds a huge grudge against Japan for being so brutal...<br />

Ahem. Anyway, maybe Namco thought not to because Mitsurugi already has too many after him ::coughTakiSetsukaLiLongcough::

So great! I love it!
I always thought it was more for Mitsurugi and Yun-seong being rivals. For the fact that Mitsurugi IS Yun-seong's destined battle and all.
