There is SO much fic concerning this dump I have yet to write.
HEADCANON TIME: The relationship between Saturn and Terra I feel goes back a ways.
They were created around the same time and met while still young. The circumstances of Saturn's creation had left his body unstable, and as he rapidly decayed, there was little his makers could do to conserve him. They faced the idea of having to euthanise him. Although, not wanting to waste the ample resources used to form him, his people sought help from beyond their planetary borders. They called upon the apex species of the 3rd planet, known for their unparalleled healing prowess.
Enter the esteemed Dies and her prodigious son Terra.
If I start going off about all what happened after that, I'd be here for years. Basically, Dies tries to fix Saturn's condition and makes so little progress that there's practically no hope beyond a miracle. She's about to let it go when Terra intervenes. Knowing she can't stay but her son won't leave, with a heavy heart, she lets him stay behind to help. For years, Terra slaves away at trying to repair the man. He ends up being the miracle that saves his life, and over the course of this effort, they become very, very close friends.
And then things fall apart in very gradually, increasingly terrible ways after Terra leaves the planet.
Their relationship now is a far cry from what they were while in their early stages, catalysed by a critical lack of communication. It's just depressing. But also so good and I cry for them.
(Thought I might also mention that these smol versions of them I've drawn them in is not how I imagine them looking as "children". I have ideas of native forms for all the Stardroids, but this is just for ease of conveyance.)
WHY DO I TALK SO MUCH LIKE GOOD LORD MAN GET OUT OF HERE >=U
