When one does not have the usual art program to work with, one must end up relying on what's available.
This would be one of those cases.
A piece I did on MS Paint before the last laptop went kaput, It is of Katara based on the current book 3 look. With Paint being so limited, the water tribe symbol is fairly basic.
I used to enjoy Paint a long time ago, and sometimes still experiment with it, when that type of OS is only available. With my OSX 10 Mac having all the better art stuff on it, I find myself not really needing to rely on Paint all that much.
Although it is fun to play with sometimes.
