Sekhmet: Created out of RA's eye to reap revenge and destruction on the people of Egypt, for their lack of appreciation to the creator RA... Sekhmet's quenchless appetite for blood nearly brought about the extinction of mankind, if not for the relenting anger of RA, because of his people's cry... Ra put an end to the slaughter by concocting a brew the color of blood... Sekhmet drank the ale. which quailed her thirst for further death and destruction... This was how I envisioned her...

The_Vampire_QueenThis is a very vibrant, lifelike depiction of Sekhmet. I like the pose, the expression on her face, and the detail you put into her body and clothing.

jiraThat's what makes Mythology so interesting, the various recording of past interpretations! Where today's writers try to come up with newer stories for entertainment purposess! So read the books instead and go with the tale that BEST suits your intrigue...

SeireiSekhmet! One of favorite Egyptian Goddesses. ^_^ You depicted very well! She looks awesome! I read one myth where she later became the Goddess Hathor. All the different stories can get really confusing...

jiraHer destructive nature during that time was induced by the creator RA, who felt unappreciated! It wasn't her fault, I guess... I did read about her healing abilities as you stated... Thanks for the comments...

Black_BreezeOh my gosh! You depicted Sekhmet amazingly! Her feriousity shows clearly through her pose and expression and everything! She is my favorite Egyptian goddess and in my opinion, she doesn't ge the credit she deserves!

But you know. . . She's not only some blood thirsty goddess *moves foot through sand*. She was also a healer, and that myth only told her destructive side. She's also really kind.

I dunno. . . I just don't want everyone to think she's OMG DESTROYING HUMANS?!?!! WHAT AN ANIMAL!! Nuh uh. All of her actions were needed at the time, and was necessary for the world.

I wuff this! *favs*

ToadslyQuinneWoohoo! I love the story of Sekhmet and this is the best drawing of her I've ever seen. (Yes, I've seen several depictions of her ^__^)

I can't tell you enough how much I enjoy the way you draw and colour. Simply excellent.

Sekhmet is an interesting goddess/diety/weapon of vengence/kitty. Not to mention a nice lesson on public drunkenness... ^_^
