People breed animals because those who can afford an animal and actually intend on buying one can get a "purebred" or not so purebred, just the specified breed to their spoiled little hearts desires. Adopting a pet is much like adopting a child also. when you get a pet off the stree, an older one(like getting a teenage child) You don't quite "raise it as your own". Same premise applies to pets. Everyone wants the babies, screw the ones that truly need a home.
