To the moon and Back

This is what a writers block does to me.

The coloring was such a dog... It isn't my thing. If anyone out there wants to give me some pointers, I would be happy... I tried coloring some of my art on the computer but I don't get the hang of the layers... Or I don't have the patience for it...
What i do love about the picture is the wood of the plants, but the paper is to large for my scanner so that part wasn't scanned... Damn it!

I also love the way how the sky around the moon came out to be.

When I was coloring the background I got carried away and forgot the stars. Damn it AGAIN!!!

I used crayons (Only for the sky), aquarelle pencils for the colors and ink for the outlines.

The story the picture is telling:

Katara: Zuko, do you see that?

Zuko: Hmm?

Katara: That is Yue. She and my brother were in love and now she watches over us. When Zhao destroyed the moon spirit, Yue sacrificed her life for the moon spirit, for all the people in the world. The fire nation took Yue and our mother away from us. This is one of the reasons why Sokka is giving you such a hard time.

Zuko: I didn't know that. I'm sorry.

Katara: Don't be. It's not your fault.
