-^^^- Hmm, the word "assassinate", simply means to purposefully eliminate a particular human target - by whatever means. In fact the ninja ARE assassins in their literal meaning - and that was way before guns were areound and certainly before your great-great-great-grandmother was a mere star in her mother's eye, if you know what I mean. Just because you tend to associate the word with more recent (and more "global") assassinations, like that of Kennedy or Lennon, it does not mean that a fire arm has to be used - hell, assassins were sent in with a goal - eliminate, but how that was done was a matter of choice and/or availability. In history (old and recent), you'll find that this was done by various means - a blade, a poisoned dart or simply a poisoned drink, a fire arm - or just bare hands - i.e. martial arts. Therefore there is nothing wrong with saying that Tatsumaru is assassinating this disposable character...

2.To destroy or injure treacherously.
