I've wanted to draw viking girl Astrid since soon after I first saw the film 'How to Train Your Dragon' (I've now seen it three times, so, as you can probably guess, I totally lurve this film!) It's been a few months since I last put pencil to paper (except for shopping lists, 'notes to self', to do lists and the like) so I wasn't sure how she'd turn out. As it happens I'm quite pleased with the result and think I've achieved a reasonable likeness. I hope you like my drawing of Astrid too.

Thanks Danielle, Crystal. The movie is a masterpiece. So many fascinating characters - and all those dragons!!! I also found it very moving in places.
I wondered if my shading of Astrid's face wasn't a bit heavy - but I decided not to risk spoiling things by rubbing out (and I was getting a bit tired by then, lol).
