Two or three weeks ago I watched the 2013 animated film 'Tarzan' (by Constantin Film and in which Tarzan is voiced by Kellan Lutz and Jane by Spencer Locke) for the first time. I totally loved it and, soon after watching the film, began to mull over drawing one of the characters from the film. I was spurred on to produce a drawing (asap) as I'll be going to a cosplay event in two days (next Sunday 16/9/18) and wanted to take with me a drawing to enter in the fanart competition they'll be holding on the day. I used an HB pencil and have slightly adjusted the contrast and brightness of the scanned picture. It's only A4 size so best not to scrutinise the details too closely. Haven't done any drawing for ages (again!!) so I'm well out of practise (not that, at my age, I still nurse any aspirations to improve!) Anyways, I'm happy with what I've done and will still very much appreciate any comments anyone cares to make. Wish me luck in the competition. Cheers.

Footnote. Below is a link to the webpage that has the film screenshot that my drawing is taken from (click on the small image to enlarge it). The webpage also has a revue of the film which rates the film a 2/4. I loved the film and watched it from start to finish (at home on a 3D bluray disc - though it's also in 2D on the same disc) the day I bought it even though I didn't put it on 'til after 11 pm! That's how gripping I found it. Yay 🙂.

TeeJay87Just because Tarzan traditionally wears a skimpy outfit, I don't see a need for a mature content filter here. Even cartoons for kids (Disney's and Hanna-Barbera's ones) depict him in a simple strap - had there been complaints about his appearances, I doubt they had much impact.

Btw, nice sketch - it would've been a great illustration for Edgar Rice Burroughs's books. ;)

liggybirdI've now removed the mature content filter TeeJay87. I was just 'playing safe' I guess. I like that you think my drawing would have been suitable to illustrate one of ERB's books. I just checked and the first Tarzan story (Tarzan of the Apes) was published in 1912. I'm old enough to remember there being books of that era around my home when I was a youngster and the (usually) line drawings they contained. (I was born in 1945 and I was around ten years old when we got our first TV set.) The only ones I can remember for sure were one about David Livingstone (the missionary explorer of Africa) and others about Robin Hood and King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Sorry if I went on a bit there TJ but thanks for your comment (and for reminding me of some of the happiest days of my life). Cheers.
