This is my contest entry for VictorAndLizzy's SHOT Contest where you had to draw yourself or a representative character shooting yourself with a "hand" gun.

I started drawing the picture in the lobby while waiting for my dentist appointment, and I always think about morbid things at the dentist, so that may have added to the unintended dark atmosphere in the picture.

It is a poor-female-anatomy representation of a bird shot in the Autumn. I was going for the "kill two birds with one stone" reference, but you could not do multiple characters, so I just opted for one "bird." If not for the terribly confusing detail, you could make out the ruined feathers, weeds, leaves, blood, and debris from the shot. The bird is a little angel now. -I think that was what I was going for.

I kept getting distracted drawing this picture (playing Slender, eating, watching Youtube videos, Tumblr, PORN) which frustrated me because if I do not finish something immediately, I have trouble coming back to it. It took a good deal of determination to finish this picture, and I thank VictorAndLizzy for letting me have the disciplinary experience.

Bic pen and lazy Photoshop coloring used. I know it is impossible for you guys to find Koji in this picture.

Your comment is funny because:

1. "OBVIOUSLY, my mind was blown xD" Was that meant to be a pun? Because if not, that is even funnier. My humor sense is getting more and more corny and ridiculous. How does Moses brew his tea? Hebrews it. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

HEY. You know what? -Just thanks for even having the courage and determination for starting a regular FAC contest. I really appreciated the extra "activity" to FAC, and it was only natural to pay my respect by entering myself. Maybe when these new FAC remembers get older and possibly stay with FAC, they will want to contribute their two cents like this too!

I drew that picture immediately after I read your comment (so not to lose all my good feelings, it is best to draw at the moment). When I cannot express my feelings adequately on FAC, I tend to cheat by distracting them with pictures. It probably worked for you.

I usually push down on my pens. How much pressure you put your pens truly adds to your art style as well. You should try all pen sometime! It is fun! -When you can break away from teh comfort zone of pencils!

I decreased my discomfort with the pen by drawing a whole bunch of comics with no rough draft and just pen- it really helps!

Attempt getting out a piece of paper and a pen and that is it! Challenge yourself and see what you get!

So coooool. Been a while since I looked at your work; almost forgot how much I liked 'em and how inspiring they are. o__o There be so many details!! Eyes dizzy by awesome! :D And there's Koji, photobombing your pics as usual (in a good way, of course!). :) The feathers falling away from her body almost look like leaves themselves.. So, I think you captured the messiness of a bird getting shot. Very nice; wish I had better criticism, but I don't. Keep it up! :P

Actually, I did blend the feathers with leaves- good eye! Or maybe I am just good at drawing leave-feathers. I did not want to make it difficult to find the leaves and feathers, so I just blended them. I was debating whether I should make the bottom as messy/detailed as the top, but I guess the semi-clearness on the bottom was needed. Does the "movement" from the bottom look weird on the picture? It looks weird to me!

DAT DETAIL. I love the fade of orange and red with dark blue at the bottom, plus the black detail everywhere is amazing. Love this~ *faaaves*
My favorite feature about her is her legs, idk but they look beautiful and so cool in their detail too.

The legs actually seem kind of abnormally small and stick-like to me- which I can use the excuse that she is partially supposed to look like an evil little angel bird, but yes. Thanks a lot! Does this look like it needs to be sharpened more? Something about it seems blurry.

I would except I don't know what to draw. Everyone is asking me for porn so that is what I'm drawing and I can't really think of anything good/funny/inspiring to draw. *shrug* I would like to do a comic, but all my attempts have come out less than spectacular. That and I would like to have one chapter done before I even think about posting. I hate when people start a comic and then 1/3 of the way through it they just stop and make you wait three months for another page. I want the entire thing done before I post even a single page.

-Sometimes, it is extremely hard and takes much determination and planning to keep a comic going for a long time AND FINISH it. ;-; I have struggled with that myself. I have realized that it is better to give them something than nothing at all.

Do not be frustrated if it is not perfect. Comics never are. Concentrate more on getting your idea across than your actual pictures!

I don't want it to be perfect, I want it to be good. I would like to just write them as a story, but then it loses that certain something you get from the visual part of comics. I'm just not sure what to do and that usually ends up with me doing nothing.

Poor female anatomy representation you say? You sure can notice your drawings faster than I do with my blobs.

Lovely cross hatching lines, very delicate yet I bet it took 3 years to get it done (all that frustration with line after line after line makes me want to scribble everything if I'd cross hatch my drawings). For some reason, I feel that the background gives off too much attention and it drives away the actual focal point. Maybe it's just my eyes, but I can't really say for sure about others. And I have to agree with darthexodus, there is something kind of left out that makes me drawing a little incomplete... Ohhh dang it, my mind can't think why it is.

Overall, it's very good. Now I should get back onto sewing and poke myself a few more times.

Yes, I was quite frustrated with this piece- and it did not even turn out all that great! I WILL WORK ON THAT. I think it is the fact that all those details are "nothing." They are just squirls that do not contribute much to the picture. The picture has no essence; it just has random patterns everywhere. The wings basically save it, but that does not change the fact that this picture is almost just a chick posing with a good deal of confusing pen blurbs around her.

I have adjusted the face and nose (made it bigger) and changed up the bright orange color to more of a yellowing-red relaxing down to bright blue. I also added a black border so the details can get focused more. I also dodged and burned everything so the face can pop out better. Does it look a little better? A little? I want to throw this picture violently out the window, but I know it just going to float calmly onto the ground.

No, it does not matter what you draw or what I draw. I am always grounds for criticism from anyone, no matter how obnoxiously ASIAN, animu, obsessed-with-Captain-America-awesome-artist cool beans they are. I will forgive you despite all those obvious flaws you have. YOU HAVE A ZIT THERE

No, you are not being picky. I know exactly what you are talking about (well, not exactly, but I can sense that lack of something too). My favorite pictures are the ones that have a special totem or something "different" than all the other detailed, pretty, but plain pictures out there. I knew I did not put that something in this picture as I attempted with my other pictures, and it shows. I rushed and dreaded working on the picture because I knew there was not as strong of a result afterwards. ;/

It is nice to know someone did not just give me praise though; I really need to reflect on when I know that when I really do not give a picture all the effort on purpose, it shows to the audience.

Thanks a lot for even setting up the contest! I was waiting for an interesting contest topic buy a decent artist to pop up! It was great because I could actually draw for it during my feel free days off school.
