" Oh! how one match would bring me such comfort!"<br />
<br />
In th story of the little match girl, it's new years eve and she's outside trying to sell matches for money because her family's poor. If she does'nt, her dad will beat her up. Then it gets REAAALLY cold and she wants to warm up. So she lights a match and imagines a hot stove. Then the match goes out. She does this two more times and sees a roast duck, then a christmas tree. Then atlast she looks at the sky and sees a falling star. To her, this meant someone just died. She lights another match and sees her grandmother; the falling star. The little girl wants the grandma to stay longer, but like the stove, the roast duck, and the christmas tree, she knows her grandma will dissapear. So the girl strikes the bundle of matches and it makes a glorious light and the grandma takes the little girl with her......to heavan; where they will start out their new year.<br />
<br />
This sad tale was by H.C. Anderson. The picture is supposed to be the part where she just froze to death after her soul was taken to heavan with the grandma. Her lips were pale pink but they turn white so she looks really frozen.
