Colored Pencils are a great medium. You can use the same pencil and make areas darker to accent shading such as on the folds of the dress.
With the evil queen, you can try shading only behind her instead of over her for a different look.
Good job on the overall picture.

I used to do the same thing when I was younger! Very nice!
