Yea, if you feel up to it, then I'd say redo the characters, the character in the foreground especially sort of takes away from the rest of the picture and the feeling it sort of exhudes. When I saw the baground the first time, I thought of either a pair fighting a little further away, perhaps near that corner of bright light, or an image of a class training and going through the kanta and being lead by their sensei.
