The colour is various different coloured waxes. I think I used a little prussian blue and a lot of white for the sky, then olive green, green, blue-green, yellow brown and rust brown for the hills and stuff...The technique is easier than you'd think from the pictures, but harder than it looks when you see someone doing it.

Very lovely work. I have no idea how difficult encaustic work is, but you seem to have mastered it. The depiction is extraordinary, I love the cliff faces cut into the hillside and what seem to be rays of light poking through the clouds above.
