Okay. Horrible .gif compression. Horrible.
This was going to be an entry for a Halloween contest over at Deviantart but... well, after about three different incarnations, this picture doesn't really look Halloween-y, does it?
Anyway.
The original idea (which, by the way, I've deviated from horribly), comes from an Irish (?) superstition. Apparently, if you hear footsteps behind you on Halloween night, you shouldn't turn around. If you do, and you see your double, it's an omen of death. That's where the title comes from.
