Carla De La Monte

Here's my Pokemon Trainer OC, Carla De La Monte. I'm not too incredibly good at drawing people, so work with me on this ^^; Enjoy her bio.

Name: Carla De La Monte

Age: 17

Trainer Type: Used to be an elite trainer like Ash, but couldn’t handle the way most people treated their Pokemon. Currently the Grand Champion in Pokemon Battle Jousting.

Home Town/ Region: Born in Barcelona Spain and raised there at her parents’ Pokemon Ranch Estate until they died when she was 8.

Current Region: Currently lives in the Sefaric Region on the Evolution Islands.

Pokemon Lineup: 1st Pokemon is a female Tygember named Minerva, who she got from Professor Madrone. 2nd is Blue Song, a once abused Krywulf she rescued as a Howlcub from Professor Ivy’s lab. 3rd is her mount for every Jousting Tournament, Tu-Tone, the dark appaloosa Rapidash mare, whom she rescued from Team Magma. She has others...I just haven't drawn them yet^^

Parents: Santiago De La Monte: Father; was once a grand Tauros trainer and bullfighter in Madrid Spain. Katarina De La Monte: Mother; was a highly respectable Bird Pokemon trainer and breeder in Sicily Italy.

Both died while on their way across the ocean to one of their many clinics and classes about proper Pokemon breeding, care and management. Their ship was taken out by an unknown cause.


Personality: Besides the fact that she’s crazy about rare and unusual Pokemon, Carla is very sweet natured, but enjoys a good verbal joust as well as a physical one! She enjoys discussing and debating methods of Pokemon breeding and raising, though she can get a bit serious about a debate and wind up undermining the person she’s debating with (normally Brock). Also, her hot Latin blood gives her a bit of a temper, and she’s not above slapping a waiter for bringing her the wrong drink. When she’s in a really foul mood, she’ll begin yelling, ranting and cursing in Spanish. Though Max gets a laugh out of it (he understands most of her cuss-words), Brock doesn’t find it very amusing. Carla is not one to give up in a battle unless her Pokemon are hurt. But, if she’s the only one who’s been injured, she will continue on, much to the dismay of her Pokemon. She’ll die trying if she’s really passionate about it.

Bio: Born in Barcelona Spain, Carla always had an interest in Pokemon that were different. Her parents indulged her every whim by filling their Estate with all types of Pokemon. But, to Carla, they were all so very common; not one of them were different then the others. She was also an explorer, and as soon as she could crawl, her parents would find her outside in the bushes. When Carla turned 6, they began to get itchy feet again and wanted to go back out and travel giving demonstrations and clinics. They didn’t trust babysitters, so Carla was left alone while they traveled. She wanted to accompany them, but they stated that it was too dangerous for her and that maybe she could come along when she turned ten. They tragically perished 2 years later. Now alone at age 8, Carla decided it was her turn to go see the world. She packed up her things, released all the Pokemon, and set out on her own.

She managed to hitch a ride (illegally) to the Hoenn Region. She was drawn to the local laboratory, where she met Professor Madrone, a highly respected Professor. He gave Carla her very first Pokemon; a strange creature recently discovered in the Southern Regions called a Tygember. He insisted he had no use for it, and that it was a very stubborn and often ill-tempered Pokemon, but Carla loved it and named it Minerva. From there, she began travelling the world just like Ash, competing in Gym and Arena battles with her sidekick. When she turned 10, however, she found herself in the Indigo Plateau relaxing on the beach. She overheard a woman by the name of Professor Ivy chatting with a strange, dark man. He gave her a cage, she gave him money, then they separated. Carla secretly followed the professor to her lab and, when night fall came, was shocked to see the woman performing some very painful and cruel tests on the Pokemon inside the cage; a Howlcub. Carla disguised herself, broke into the lab, fought professor Ivy, and destroyed the lab, stealing the Howlcub when she was finished. (It was after the incident that Ivy broke her relationship off with Brock, as he wasn’t there when she needed him most.)

When Carla returned to Hoenn to tell Prof. Madrone of the awful sight she’d witnessed, she was shocked and sickened to find him doing the same thing in his lab to other Pokemon. Disgusted beyond all reasons, she returned to his lab that night and destroyed it; setting loose all the Pokemon in doing so. She was caught and Madrone pressed charges against her. She was triad, convicted, and sentenced to 4 years in a level 2 prison cell away from her Pokemon and everything beautiful and natural that she loved so much. Madrone resigned and handed his lab over to professor Birch.


Skip ahead to Carla’s new trial date. She is released after 3 years for good behavior and is granted Probation. Her probation officer is a man named Manuel who works secretly for an Organization known to accept and protect diversity in the Pokemon World. It is called the OPGD, the Organization for the Protection of Genetic Diversity. They go around to labs and other Pokemon related facilities and release the genetically diverse Pokemon and then destroy millions of dollars worth of Lab equipment. Manuel introduces Carla to the Organization and tells her that they were very impressed with her actions, and would like her to be their new head spy. Carla agrees, her first release and destroy mission being a lab in Team Magma’s secret lair. It is a success and Carla finds herself with a new Pokemon; a gorgeous black and white spotted Rapidash she names Tu-Tone. It is after this first mission that she dons the nickname ‘The Monte Carla’.

Carla continues to work for the group, who have spies in Team Magma, Team Aqua and Team Rocket. However, as time goes on, Carla begins to miss the adrenaline rush that comes from a good Pokemon battle. But, because of her criminal record, Carla is not allowed to compete in any gym or arena battles, nor is she allowed to compete in Pokemon Contests. Her PO offers a suggestion to travel to the Sefaric Region, as they don’t have any spies there yet. He also informs her that the people in that region are very laxed; hippies, if you will. There are also many rare Pokemon that are only found in the Sefaric region, and this perks Carla’s interest. She researches the region and finds that the Evolution Islands located in the Sefaric region have a protein in the soil that causes Pokemon that don’t usually evolve to evolve into strange and beautiful creatures. Excited about the new Pokemon she’ll meet and the new and interesting types of battles that ensue, she decided to take the job.

She is currently the Grand Champion of Pokemon Battle Jousting and continues with her double life as the Monte Carla, destroying labs who’s only goal is to exterminate what they call ‘Genetically Mutated’ specimens and concentrate on Gene Manipulation to create Pokemon with a Breed Standard of Perfection (I.e. all Rapidash must be white, all Pikachu must be yellow, etc…).

This fic will take place 5 years from where the series is now...

Carla has been following Ash’s battle scores as well as his appearances on the news related to Rare and Legendary Pokemon. It is her goal to get him to join her in the Organization. She’s also got a bit of a crush on him; she secretly wishes she could meet him. Her wish is about to come true, as Ash (now 16 going on 17) is travelling to the Evolution Islands to see the Pokemon Battle Jousting Championship Tournament with his friends Brock (about 19) who has just finished Pokemon Breeding Collage and is opening up a Breeding Center of his own in a few days, Misty (about 18) who has once again left the Cerulean Gym in the care of her sisters to pursue a new career in Pokemon Water Sports, Tracey (also about 19) who is now a world famous Pokemon Artist, May (15) who has nothing better to do and Max (around 11) who is eagerly awaiting the grand Opening of Brock’s Breeding Center so he could get his first Pokemon. They are all unaware of the adventure they’re so cluelessly stumbling into.
