This is my 2nd time coloring using gimp, and I don't own a tablet, so I do everything by mouse. I'm getting more confident with shading, and I put in a background!!! YAY!
She's the princess of the Asteroid Senshi, even though I'm pretty sure she can protect herself!
The flower she's holding is called Apophis, so I thought that was a cool little add on, and I bet some of you can guess where her dress came from!

Yeah, you can go to gimp.org. Once you're there click download at the top of the screen under the big 2.6. and then under the picture on the next page click the really small download link. It should take you right to the download. You can also get a torrent for photoshop. I just recently got photoshop cs2 for free from a torrent, but gimp is about the same as photoshop usage wise, but gimp is a little more pixely. I would also recommend searching for tutorials on how to use gimp. They helped me out so much! Well, good luck!! Hope to see some of your work soon!!

No, it's not a problem! =) What you'll want to do is open you're line art (if you just have a sketch it's easier to ink it by hand, gimp is a pain when it comes to inking. After you're line art is open and ready you'll want to find the layer box (if it isn't on the right side of the screen go to the top to windows and go all the way down to layers, paths, channels, and undo and click it). Once you get your layer box go to the bottom of it and get a new layer by clicking on the blank sheet. Now go to the top of the layer box and you'll see a scroll down box that says normal. You'll need to click that and change it to multiply (that way when you color the color goes under your line art). Then color and do what you do, and you can make new layers so the colors don't collide and you mess them up. To blend my shadows and stuff I usually use the blur (at a rate of 100) and smudge tool. The burn tool is also very nice for shadows and the dodge tool is awesome for highlights and very bright shines. Well, I think thats abou the jist of it! I hope it helped! If you have any more questions let me know, I'm happy to help.

She looks very pretty in this one ^^ I lurve the flower and her expression is lovely and tranquil. Great shading, highlighting, and folds! The outfit is nice and you used a neat background. Once again, wonderful hair! It's impressive that you use a mouse! The only thing I can draw on the computer is a stick figure XDD!
