This is slightly inspired by the song "Watching the Detectives" by Elvis Costello (as quoted and linked above).

This also somewhat occurred from a conversation between me and my grandpa yesterday...

Me *while drinking Snickers flavoured cappuccino*: I need to draw Stan in a diner...with coffee.
Him: Yeah, but he's a detective, he wouldn't drink that sweet stuff.
Me: No. NO! That's too fun for him. He would drink it straight black.
Him: And take it with three cigarettes.
Me: Yes! Stan...Stan is a serious man.

XD

Um, but basically Stan is troubled, as one of his cases took a turn for the worst...and people got hurt. This may possibly be the beginning of one episode later. :D

there is also a movie called "watching the detectives" and it's really good. it's like a love story between two really odd people.

i love your style so much! it's weird and cartoony(in a good way of course) but you can still display good emotion and character. :)
