Meet Daryl Schwartz

Meet Daryl Schwartz. He is unarguably a very basic individual. He is thirty-five-years-old. He is unmarried and without children. This is not because he is an undesirable man. Datability wise, he would be around about average. Simply, he does not wish for companionship. He is very careful in his appearance. His shirt is always tucked in, his hair is always combed. He keeps his face clean shaven. His clothing style even on the average is probably a small step above casual. His favourite colours to wear are very soft pastels. His shoes of choice are sensible brown loafers. Everything must be very presentable. He lives in a small suburban home with a well kept lawn in an average neighborhood. The upkeep of his house is quite nice, it is pleasing to the eyes.

He has a humble job, working mainly in the grocery section at the local Wal-Mart. Here he can be found putting the prices on many of the canned goods. He is not a very social man, none of his coworkers have ever meet him outside of work. Back at his home, his neighbors will agree that he likes his privacy. He will make short conversations with them, normally only if they start it first. He is somewhat of a strange man, the neighbors will tell you, but nothing too far out of the ordinary, nothing to be worried about. He will retreat to the inside of his home as soon as the conversation is done. None of his neighbors have ever been past his front door.

If they had, they would find that despite his beautiful house and well kept lawn, his house itself is very empty. The living room, as it is the first room that will be brought to your attention upon entering, has very minimal furniture. It contains a couch that Daryl received from his mother after she died recently of cancer. He misses her, especially since he has never known a father. The couch is dear to him because of this. Then there is an entertainment center. It contains a standard television of a sensible size. Alongside the television is the most basic DVD player a person could own in today's world. It is the only thing that gives the television any use, as Daryl has no cable, no satellite. Then there are the DVDs that Daryl has to watch on said DVD player. They are the one plentiful thing to be found, as he is an avid fan of films. They are mostly of the indie film variety, or are those kind of movies that can't really be put into any one specific genre.

The next main room to be seen downstairs is the kitchen. It has considerably more furniture, but only because it has more basic things to be used than a living room does. It only contains what a person really needs, a stove, fridge, etc. The only even relatively "splurgey" items are a microwave, a coffee maker, and a toaster. The fridge doesn't get much use though. On average, it's empty all for a jar of jelly and a few assorted condiments. The freezer is the only real use, as it contains quite a few TV dinners. Daryl is not a bad cook, far from it even, but he doesn't care for it much. His real source of food is canned goods, bought from the very grocery section he works in. He has put the price tags on many of the items himself. In a way he likes this, he likes the idea of being close to his food.

Finally, there is a downstairs bathroom. It is a small one, with only a toilet and a sink. It doesn't get much use. For the most part it has been untouched for the past few years. Before we get to the upstairs of his living quarters, it must be noted that underneath the stairs a closet can be found. It is of a relatively large size for a closet, where a person would be able to walk in and move about without much difficulty. Despite this, there is only a bundle of cleaning products found in the corner. They are not used much, which is strange considering the outside appearance of the house and Daryl strict dress code. Daryl is not much of a house keeper.

Upstairs there are three rooms aside from the master bathroom, where Daryl keeps the many toiletries necessary to keep his clean look. He has even bought a pretty great electric razor. They are supposed to be bedrooms, but Daryl only uses one of them for this purpose. The first and smallest room is used as a computer room. It contains the bare minimum as expected from the presentation of the rest of Daryl's house. There is a computer desk with a matching chair. His computer isn't the latest or greatest, but a decent one. It is a bit above basic, unlike the rest of Daryl's house. The internet access is even better. It is the one thing in Daryl's house that is above average. Internet is Daryl's only access to the outside world from within his home, due to lack of any television service. He spends quite a bit of time on the internet, but even there is still not very social. He has no online friends to speak of. For the most part, he researches various interests and keeps up with news from all around the world. Ever so often he will use the internet to pleasure himself. It is only human nature. He still feels shame.

Then there is his bedroom. It is the biggest of the three upstairs rooms. However, it is probably the most bare room in the house. He doesn't so much have a bed as he just has mattresses in the floor. Despite this, he still has the mattresses made up with all the proper bed stuff. That is to say that it is a bed all for lacking a frame. There is a soap box turned upside-down next to it which Daryl uses as a table. This is not because Daryl cannot afford a table, he simply doesn't care enough to buy one. the soap box does the same job just as fine. Atop the soap box is a basic lamp. It actually has a shade, which is somewhat surprising considering the rest of the room. It has a pull chain to turn it on and off. This is the only furniture to speak of in Daryl's room.

Then there is the last room. It has no furniture in it at all. In the corner is a set up much like that of a photo shoot. It has a white sheet for a backdrop, and X's have been placed here and there to tell Daryl where to stand. There is also a stool setting in an exact spot. Aimed at this setup is a camcorder on a tripod. It is an old fashion camcorder, the kind that still uses full-sized VHS tapes. The rest of the room is filled with these tapes, as Daryl has been filming himself on the daily bases. There are quite possibly hundreds of them, fitting wall to wall. By this point in time he will have accumulated enough to start taking up space in the other three upstairs rooms as well, though nowhere near as many found in the room itself. If anyone where to watch them, then they would meet Daryl Schwartz. The real Daryl Schwartz. Now I ask you...are you ready to meet Daryl Schwartz?
