OKAY, so this is Marshall, a character for one of my RP clubs on dA. He's a little more complicated than my others though, even Perry.
For one, he won't look like this too often, because he covers his entire body, face and all, and even needs some of these articles of clothing (such as a gasmask sorta deal) to survive. BUT, we'll get into that later. Let's start with his origin...
So Marshall here started out as Marshall Adams, a well known criminal famous for thievery among official such as leaders and people you wouldn't want to mess with. He lived hard and died young. His cause of death? Hanging, of course. You don't think you can rob public officials and get away with it for too long, do you?
ANYWAY, Dr. Du Maurier, a flunky scientist who was more concerned with reviving the dead rather than preventing them from being so as most doctors would in their universe, decided to take that final step and CREATE LIFE! Marshall was the freshest body to be found by him, and became the primary build for what you see now. Of course, he was still pretty badly decomposed, so he had to borrow some parts from other folks, as well as make a few artificial ones himself. Males and females of every race and age where raided for said parts, and Marshall's body shell became quite the human patchwork. The doctor wanted every body part too, every working organ and all. He even wanted a soul...
He finally went to a witch doctor and paid some serious coin for the harvested soul of an unborn baby, quite a pure and rare find. Once he had all the parts, he assembled Marshall and reanimated him Frankenstein style. Of course, this part only made a living shell. The final step was to inject the unborn soul into Marshall's heart and let it circulate through his body. With his fingers crossed, Du Maurier did so...to find success. Marshall had a full animated body complete with all his organs and bones and everything else like a real person, even a soul.
Of course, while he may have been technically human, and felt and acted like one, he still fell under the zombie category...and was feared and hated, destined to be killed once again when he ran into the wrong person. To prevent people from ever finding out his identity otherwise, and to help preserve his patchwork body, Du Maurier constructed Marshall a mask and a few other accessories to keep him alive and hidden. All he had to do was wear normal clothing like anyone else, and they would never know the difference...
Once Marshall was confident enough to go out on his own, he did so with dreams of becoming an assassin/bounty hunter. He eventually fulfilled these dreams, which he does quite well. All the while he can't help but wonder what all these people hiring him would think if they saw the real him.
MEANWHILE:
- He's technically only male by default. As Du Maurier found that a being such as Marshall would not be too sexually active, he didn't bother to give him any sexual organs...inside or out. That's why he has that gigantic groin scar there. Considering his flesh and organs came from both males and females doesn't help determine him either. However, given that the rest of his build as well as voice and original base were that of a male, he considers himself one.
- The little tubes and such found throughout his body work like blood for him, since he's technically dead and can't produce his own (nor any other bodily fluids for that matter). He calls this his "life fluid", funny as it may sound.
- He's kinda stuck between a human/zombie state. Like a human, he can feel pain and be damaged. If his arm gets cut off, it's just the same as if it were a human getting their arm cut off, while as a zombie really wouldn't know the difference or be affected much. He also has the life force a human, dying anyway a human can and having their limited abilities. Like a zombie, however, he is technically dead and has no healing factors. Once he's cut, he's cut, and it won't heal back. He has to either leave it or fix it artificially. On the bright side, he is also like a zombie in the fact that he doesn't have to worry about it becoming infected. In the long run, the major con is that he's really fragile...but at least the major pro is that he's more easily repaired than a human is.
- Du Maurier could only fix so much, and since Marshall's original neck had been badly broken he just welded on a metal neck brace to keep Marshall's head up.
- He has ears like those of a lizard, just in case you wondered where the went. XD
- Since his brain is that of a criminal but his soul is that of an unborn baby (and therefor unable to be corrupt yet), he's thoroughly confused on where he stands on the whole good and evil thing. Because of this, he has taken up taking morality advice from a vintage Chuck Norris action figure. Ironically, Marshall's Chuck really doesn't act all that much like the real Chuck Norris, since he's only animate through Marhsall's eyes and totally depends upon his imagination. Yeah, he's not all there. What did you expect from a partially decomposed brain?
UHHH...I think that about covers it. :D

This is one of your best thought-out characters yet. And that's saying something. You think up of awesome things.
