Alright, so my Senior Prom is next weekend, and I just had to go because the theme is Masquerade. I mean, COME ON. Who passes up a Masquerade? Not Comix. Anyhoo, I went to my friend’s house yesterday and we made our masks and corsages.
Mask: I used an ink pad and a brush to shade up the mask with purple (my dress be plum colored). Really, the lighting in this picture does it no justice (the sun was streaming through my bedroom window and lit EVERYTHING up. I glued some glitter thickly around the eyes…then hot glued some sequins above. Add some black feathers and viola! A Mask made for a Masquerade!
Corsage: Now ladies and gents, let me inform you that you can have a whole lot of fun and save a whole lot of money making your own corsage if you’re a girl, or a boutonnière if you are a boy. We snagged a chain of fake flowers in white, then cut it up. I edged the flower in the same purple I used for my mask, the glued some glitter in the center of it. I hot glued some leaves, then tied on a black ribbon. Viola! A Corsage worthy of a formal event!
Tophat: Upon buying my prom dress, I was cruising through the craft store in search of mask making items. I just so happened to come across a mini top hat and became convinced that I had to wear one. XD I decked the entire thing out in black glitter, then glued on some of the black feathers for my mask. I added a big black veily bow on the back, as well as a little metal heart.
Needless to say, I’m going to be styling. XD
