The girl is the guardian of darkness Helen. But she goes by Claire now. And the guy is the guardian of fire Randy but he goes by Lance. These are there alter egos. They have the same powers, but they look different. The reason they transformed into this is because the guardian of love combined with teh guardian of hate. And now she is a powerful being. She is after the guardians so she can steal there powers and control the universe. That explains there reason for hiding themselves.
