Blue the Coralisk

This is Blue, and he's a Coralisk. His family was killed, and he barely escaped with his life. When the humans came to Corlipse, he was left on the beach to be killed by them, but a young girl wouldn't let them hurt him. After he managed to pick up a bit of English, he was allowed to stay with the humans to avoid being killed. His real name in the Coralisk language means "color of sky and sea", so Blue is a pretty accurate translation, seeing as on Corlipse, the sky is a light blue and the ocean is a deep blue. He's considered a girly-boy by Coralisk standards because his spines are short and his markings are so light... and he kinda is a girly-boy.

Coralisks are amphibious creatures with both lungs and gills. Their bodies are covered in tiny soft feathers, with a mane of longer fluffy feathers on their heads and down their backs onto the tails. They live on the planet Corlipse. They're extremely venomous, a single bite enough to kill an elephant and three bites enough to kill a whale. They are social creatures with intelligence just below humans, with a spoken language consisting of hisses. Their feathers are usually a light, faded color, with bright markings and the manes a darker version of the marking color. They've figured out how to make uniformly black shorts to wear. Females have more faded markings and shorter spines than males. They all have three wing-spines on each side of their back. They're also a bit smaller than most humans, with an average standing height of 5 feet for males and a bit less for females.
