This "random wisdom" can be read in "War of the Spider Queen" series by R.A. Salvatore https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_Spider_Queen - have to admit, it's one of my favorite fantasy series.

Since you like spiders so much, I'm sure you'll enjoy those - after all, those books are about society, where spiders are considered as sacred animals. ;)
