eh, i already colored it in photoshop before hand, so it didn't take long. it could have been even quicker if i wasn't playing around XD. this was mostly just to get the feel for GIMP and test lighting effects. yeah really liked how the light on the necklace came out too. XDDDD urghhh i'm still not used to it! x_X help!!!! lol. i recently found out how to use the pen tool in GIMP which was loads easier than photoshop. lol, yeah it's good that it's free to ^^ it's just set up differently, but you're right, it's pretty much the same thing. thanks, i'm still getting used to it though.

I found it real helpful, i only found it a day ago, and its help me understand the colouring process a whole heap more than i did before :D it even provides you with the lineart on the 3rd page so you can try it out urself :D

oh and i found out this niftly little trick. remember how you said that when you colour it pixels around the edges? well i had that problem as well. you have to make sure all the layers are transparant, save for the one white background layer down the bottom. go to ur lineart layer, and use the magic wand tool to select an area. hold down shift to selects multiple areas. then, right click the selection, and go to SELECT >> GROW. change the number to 1, then the selection will grow the tiniest bit, but enough to go inbetween the lineart if that makes sence. that way, when you fill it in with the bucket on a seperate layer, the colour goes underneath the lineart, and the grey pixels around the lineart blend in with the colour. LOL im not to good at explaining, but i hope i helped!

yeah i've been searching tutorials latley for coloring an outlining help. urgh, the link isn't working >_< but thanks. urgh and another bad thing... my GIMP is only on my laptop which is messed up and i can't even open GIMP up on it, so i can't even try out the stuff i see on the tutorials anyway -__-. but when i get my laptop fixed and can open GIMP again, i'll try out what you said, sounds like i can fallow your explaination i just don't have access to the program at the moment.... X( SUX!
I luv the use of lighting in this picture, especially how the beads around his neck glow slightly with the light.
Once again, great work! So how long did it take you to get used to GIMP? I found it much easier than photoshop, i think its simpler. and its free too :D i can't believe i almost went out and bought photoshop, coz this program is just as good
keep it up :D
