This is XJ9 (or X-J9) otherwise known as Jenny from My Life as a Teenage Robot. It was a request from a friend who mysteriously wants to remain anonymous. I had no objections to doing this now since it was the next drawing I was planning on doing anyway. I have been putting off drawing Jenny because I don't do well with mechanical looking thing. Every machine I draw looks like it came out of an old Flash Gordon serial. I decided not to attempt to make her look real high techie and to just add elements that suggested she was a robot. I think that was a good choice. I do like the way it came out.

Hi Bigears,I have not been on this site in 6 months at least. I have always been pretty much invisible here so, I quit showing up. I was really surprised to see this comment and apologize for not thanking you sooner. Maybe I'll have to stop by a little more and even post a few things. I probably have a years worth of art I could post.

Hi Ana, Thank you for finding and commenting on XJ9. I really had a lot of fun drawing Jenny. There are so many interesting things you can do with her. You're not constrained by having to make her look completely human. You can make light reflect off of metal surfaces you can put gadgets all over the place and metal joints hide all kinds of flaws. I was asked by someone to draw Vega so I think that I will have to try her soon. Thanks again.

Hi Hitheria, Thank you very much. You pinpointed the one thing I was hoping would give the picture some punch. I worked real hard trying to get her left hand correct. The hands can be so expressive yet can be the harest things to draw. I wanted to get a unique angle and must have worked on that one hand for 40 minutes until I was sure I had it looking right. Thank you.

Hi Lyokorulz, First of all, if you are from the United States, Happy Thanksgiving and if you're not, Happy Thanksgiving anyway. Thank you very much. You hit the nail on the head. That is exactly what I was going for, a human with robot elements. I think everyone should try drawing Jenny. It is so much fun. You can hang gadgets from her, you can play with reflective surfaces. The possibilities are endless.
