But seriously, the drawing isn't that bad, it's just a little washed out. Looks like you have some learning to do -- explore your scanner utility's menubar for the options to adjust "brightness" or "exposure", it should bring up a dialog box with slider controls that you can use to tweak the brightness and get the picture looking better. Specifically, avoid setting the "highlights" value too brightly (this causes it to wash out), and tweak the "midtones" value a little darker. Then the picture should come out just fine when you scan it.
