Chapter 2 - Rei
Episode Two:
Rei
In a small clearing in the forest, there was a small group of three: two girls and a boy: the two girls were named Machi and Mika. Machi was also 16. She was a tall girl with straight, short-cut, silver-blond hair and sharp, black eye's and eye lashes. She was wearing a black Tunic that strapped around her at the waist with a belt that had two pockets that held a number of things like a small metal rod with that came to a point at one end. And skirt that was torn all around. She was sitting back-to-back with the girl called Mika: she was of equal height and was 19 years old. Her almost Plumish colored hair was draped over her face in a girlish fashion , though she was definitely not girlish. And in the shine of the moon, her hair reflected a red. Her eyes, being very pretty, were a Amber color that shone dully in the camp fire. She was clad in a simple dark-green shirt with full-length sleeves and ripped pants of the same color. Across from them was a 19-year-old boy who Kira will know as Rei. He was tall with soft-looking black hair that was cut at his shoulders. His face was soft and his bangs fell over his soft-looking brown eyes. He was in ragged looking shirt that was ripped at the arm and collar; with long shorts that went up to his knees.
"Where are they?" Mika asked her self in annoyance.
"What are you fussing about now, Mika?" Machi snapped. She was usually like this: iratable and always one some ones bad side. This time she was irritated by Mika distracting her from her book. "They'll be back soon enough, Mika. And Haru won't let any thing happen to her. Stop worrying about them now." Machi let out a sigh and continued reading her book.
"I wasn't talking to you. Just so you know." Mika said in the same annoyed tone. She had known Machi for 8 years, and she was always in this mood. She can't remember why they were friends, but she just knew they were. She looked over the fire to see Rei : he was leaning on a tree, resting. It was pretty obvious that she liked him, though it was in a different way that even she her self can't place it.
An hour later Haru apeared out of the forest in Wolf form. She walked over to a pile of cloths and dug out a shirt with only one sleeve and a short scort. Mika, opening her eyes, looked at her: she
was alone.
"Haru? Where is Kira?" Haru turned her head to her. dizzy from the sudden movement.
"Behind that tree. She's naked, and I'm getting her cloths." she tuned to the tree and tossed the cloths. Machi and Rei woke up when they heard Mika laugh. They blinked away the blur and saw her hanging around Kira's neck.
Rei, shaking him self awake, got up and looked at Kira and smiled,
"Your Kira?" he asked, though he knew the answer.
"Yes. And your...?" she said in a hoarse voice.
"Rei. Mika has been talking about you. Is she your sister?" he said looking at Mika hanging around Kira's neck.
"Ah, no. She isn't, and we're not siblings. She's just a friend."
"Oh, I see. Come, sit next to the fire." he offered his hand out, but she quickly passed him by, embarrassed.
Sitting down by the fire, Kira said, "Where's Kame?" looking at Haru.
"She's walking near the stream, " Machi pointed to a small stream near a large tree. "She wanted to look for a Berry Bush or some thing. About an hour ago." she pushed her silver bangs away from her face, looking at Haru. "Seipei rising this hour. You should change back now. Unless you want to stay a wolf for the day." She grinned.
Haru, looking at the forest said, " Kame's coming back." Haru went the the pile of cloths again, this time bringing out a dress and leggings. "I'll be back soon." Haru walked out of sight into the forest.
"Kame shouldn't be out there." Kira looked at Machi. "Some thing's roaming free out there, and..."
Rei looked concerned. "What happened when you were meeting with Seinstrei?"
Kira looked more than confused at Rei. "How'd you know who I was meeting with? I didn't even know her name." she shifted her entire body to face Rei. "Well?"
"Because I knew her. Just an acquaintance, but I knew her. And she told me who she was meeting with, you."
"How'd you end up here?" Kira pressed on.
"I went looking for you, but I ran into Kame on one of her strolls. And she told me she knew you. But you've been gone a day, so I stayed with Machi, Mika, Kame and Haru."
"Why?" Kira and Mika asked at the same time.

"Haru? Where is Kira?" Haru turned her head to her. dizzy from the sudden movement.

"How'd you end up here?" Kira pressed on.
"I went looking for you, but I ran into Kame on one of her strolls. And she told me she knew you. But you've been gone a day, so I stayed with Machi, Mika, Kame and Haru."
"Why?" Kira and Mika asked at the same time.
"Well, I though you were the only one meeting with her. And you were, but these two and the others where also with you. And what I had to say was concerning all of you. I'll have to wait to tell you what happened till Haru and Kame come back. You should wait to tell us what happened to Seinstrei and the others when they get back, too."
Kira truned her body back to the fire and said, "I'll tell you all when they get back."
The fire ate at the wood and crackled. The wind made the tree's branches sway, clearing off a row of dead leaves into the wind. The morning was so nice, she didn't want to ruin it telling every one of the slaughter that happened. But, alas, she had to, for every ones safety. How cruel, Kira thought. How cruel.
