Chapter 1 - Untitled
The Mask
There is nothing to a smiling face
But a mask that shows all your disgrace.
A face that's broken, battered, split,
Will never again have a smile lit.
When everyone you know and love dies,
You make a new mask that's full of lies.
Hiding what's there, hiding what's true
There is always a mask that's hiding you.
Hide all you want, my masks are all broken.
And now I am true, the one true token.
Don't be worried or scared the won't like you.
Because, trust me, you'll find someone who is new.
Masks are tools, things that we use.
But really, inside, they're our key to abuse.
Today, let us all wear a happy mask.
So when we cry, no one will ask:
“Are you alright? Are you okay?”
You tell them yes, though its no anyway.
Forget what I said, my masks still lie.
But which one today will make me cry?
The light is gone, it has been put out.
And now I can say, without a doubt,
Good bye and good day, and by the way,
Which one of your masks are you wearing today?
