Chapter 1: The Endar Spire[br]

Author's Note: To anyone who is new to the KOTOR game, there is a large plot gap in the beginning that will gradually get filled. So please, no comments on the plot gap, because it is intentional. Thank you.[br]

My eyes shot open. I had awoken to a loud roar from the metal around me. My eyes wandered my quarters. I could hear... Laser fire. What was going on? I sat up slowly when suddenly, the door into my quarters opened. In walked a man who was around his thirties. He had gray hair which was shaved down the sides so there was only hair on the top. He was wearing a republic uniform.[br]

"LIAM, GET UP FAST!!" he roared at me.[br]
[br]
"Who are you?" I asked, confused.[br]
[br]
"I am Trask Ulgo, an ensign with the republic. I work opposite shifts to you, so that is probably why you don't recognize me. Anyway, Liam, get up and dressed! We are under attack," he spoke concerned but also he seemed worried. I wondered why. [br]
[br]
"Who are we being attacked by?" I asked him.[br]
[br]
"The sith. They set up an ambush. They are after Bastila." I looked at him, confused.[br]
[br]
"Who?"[br]
[br]
"The young Jedi that is in command of this ship and this mission. Come on, Liam, we are soldiers. We have to protect her." [br]
I sighed, and climbed out of my bed, I walked to my locker, and got dressed and ready for battle. I then turned to Trask.[br]
[br]
"Okay, let's go," I commanded. Thankfully, I was a high ranking officer on this ship, so getting the soldiers together will be easy.[br]
[br]
We left the room and ran down the corridor We opened another door at the end, and saw a firefight ensuing between a sith boarding party and two republic soldiers. Trask and I watched as blaster bolts came from both sides. One sith trooper got shot in the head and fell to the ground dead. His teammates carried on with renewed courage and gunned down both republic soldiers with their blaster rifles.[br]

Trask and I stepped into the hallway. I aimed my blaster rifle and Trask aimed his pistol as we fired at both sith troopers, eliminating them with ease, then proceeded down the corridor. We stopped when my communicator on my wrist produced a hologram of a man with brown hair and a brown beard.[br]
"There is one last escape pod. All remaining units, hurry! Bastila is in one, you are the only ones left alive, so hurry! Things are getting worse every minute! I can't hold this position any longer!" he said quickly, then the hologram disappeared.[br]

"I know who that was. That was Carth Onasi, the best pilot in the republic fleet. If he says things are bad, then they must be. He has seen more battle than all the Endar Spire crew put together!" He spoke quite proudly of this man.[br]
[br]
"I don't care, Trask. I just want to get off here alive." We carried on fast through the winding corridors of the Endar Spire.[br]
[br]
After some minutes, we arrived at the bridge and saw a large group of 7 sith troopers there. As soon as we entered, they aimed their guns at us.[br]
[br]
"DROP YOUR WEAPONS, REPUBLIC SCUM!" commanded one of them; the leader, I presume.[br]
[br]
Trask and I looked at one another. We then spotted a sith fighter flying down at the bridge window out of control. I grabbed tightly onto a control panel and Trask held onto a pipe tightly. The man watched us, confused, then he turned around and saw the ship. Before he could react, it smashed through the bridge window, causing everything to be sucked out at extreme speeds. Trask and I held our breaths. I felt my feet being pulled toward the window. I watch as the sith troopers all got sucked out, then the metal blast doors shut down on the windows.[br]
[br]
"Emergency blast doors activated," said a robot over the computer.[br]
[br]
"I have never been so happy to hear a robot before," I said. "Trask, come on, we need to get to the escape pods."[br]
[br]
As we ran through the door out of the bridge, we saw the doorway to the escape pods. Suddenly, the control panel turned red and the door locked. We heard a faint humming get gradually louder. We turned to the source of the noise, to see a Dark Jedi wielding a double bladed red lightsaber. He stared menacingly at us.[br]
[br]
"HA! Two more rats have come to the slaughter. Prepare to die, republic scum," he said, grinning evilly.[br]
[br]
He charged at us and swung his lightsaber, I dropped my blaster rifle and pulled out my longsword. I swung it up to parry his incoming strike, but I did not see his foot. I felt a powerful kick to my stomach and I fell back onto the floor winded, holding my stomach. He walked to me slowly readying his lightsaber, when Trask dove in and swung at him. The Jedi saw and ducked, then growled and kicked Trask in the stomach, forcing him to the floor.[br]
[br]
I swung my sword at the Jedi, but he held out his hand. My whole body tightened as if an invisible grip had me. He lifted me up and I struggled. Trask pulled out his blaster pistol and shot at him but the Jedi held out his hand and deflected it at the panel, which turned green and opened. The console was badly burnt, but still working. Trask growled and got up and swung a fist at the Jedi who blasted me away from him to catch Trask's fist. I landed through the door to the escape pods, holding my back in agony. I watched helplessly as Trask got overpowered. [br]
[br]
"LIAM, RUN!" He pulled out his blaster pistol and shot the console net to the door and it burnt out. The door closed and locked. I got up and banged on the door wildly.[br]
[br]
"TRASK! OPEN THE DOOR! YOU WON'T MAKE IT!" Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see it was Carth, the soldier Trask spoke of.[br]
[br]
"Come on, we got no time, hurry!" He practically pushed me into the escape pod and he got in. He pressed in a number combination on the keypad and the door closed, I felt the entire pod shake and then I looked out the window to watch us get pushed from the Endar Spire. I watched then my eyes widened as the entire station exploded.[br]
[br]
"Trask...I will avenge you," I thought to myself. I then felt the pod shaking wildly and roaring loudly. I looked outside and saw flames erupting outside the escape pod. I held onto my seat tightly, and suddenly heard Carth shout.[br]
[br]
"GET READY! BRACE FOR IMPACT!" [br]
[br]
[br]
